Emergencies and safety category launches on Yukon.ca

It has been a few months since we launched our beta website, Yukon.ca. During this time we've been adding new pages to the site and preparing to migrate more content from gov.yk.ca to the new website.

We launched the Emergencies and safety category on Friday, May 4. We identified this category through the card sort exercise we ran last summer. We are launching it now because spring and summer can be busy emergency seasons in Yukon. We want to make sure our users have access to the latest information on floods and wildfires. We want to ensure the information we post is accessible and meets our users needs.

We launched the category with 20 pages. The topics include preparing for emergencies, wildfires, flooding and home fire safety.

Current emergency information is on the Get emergency updates page. This summer you can expect to see links to the most recent wildfire bulletin on this page. If there is an emergency in Yukon, we will update this page.

We have also launched a Yukon fire information map as part of this release. This map shows users all new, active and extinguished fires in Yukon. There is also information on the fire size, status and location.

You can expect to see more pages added to this category in the coming months.
